B-town Follows 70’s and 80’s Trend

Untitled-6In the 60’s double roles were fresh and liked by audiences. That was the time when Bollywood got to see new concept with films like ‘Hum Dono’ and ‘Ram Aur Shyam’. This concept was appreciated by the viewers and it became a hit by the 70s and 80s where we see Amitabh Bachcha doing double role in Don, Geraftaar and Akhree Raasta. The trend continued in the 90s where we witnessed Salman and Shah Rukh doing the same. The craze for double roles after then went on declining.
And now, this trend is coming back again and we witnessed double role with Abhishek Bachchan’s film ‘Bol Bachchan’, Arjun Kapoor’s ‘Aurangzeb’, Akshay Kumar’ ‘Rowdy Rathore’ and Aamir Khan’s ‘Dhoom 3’.
The trend is gaining speed and actors like SRK, Salman, Saif are trying to entertain the audiences with double roles in their upcoming films. Salman is playing double role in two consecutive films. One is Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ and the other is Anees Bazmee’s ‘No Entry Mein Entry’.
Shah Rukh also revealed that he will be seen in double in the film ‘Fan’ which is directed by Maneesh Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra.
In his upcoming film ‘Happy Ending’, Saif will also portray dual role. This film’s trailer was recently released and it appears to be an interesting film.
