Why Ali Didn’t Want to Talk About BJP’s Opposition to his Film?

Untitled-2‘Kill Dil’ is a new YRF venture which stars Pakistani actor Ali Zafar along with Govinda, Ranveer Singh and Parineeti Chopra. This film is facing criticism of the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). The party is asking for a ban on the release of this film just because of the fact that it features a Pakistani actor. When asked about it in an interview, Ali refused to answer.
Due to ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Jammu and Kashmir border, the BJP is fuming and warned the filmmakers and production houses not to cast Pakistani actors. Sanjay Upadhyay who is the vice-president of BJP, Mumbai unit said that they will protest against the release of Kill Dill because it features a Pakistani artist. He said, “After the state assembly elections, we will be launching a stir because whatever is happening at the border is shocking. Our film industry provides employment to so many people from Pakistan but do they give our actors an opportunity in their films? The producers and directors need to understand that we have ample talent in the country. Instead of scouting for Pakistani artistes, they should give Indian talent a chance. We will ensure that this practice stops. They need to respect our country,”
Ali responded to this by simply saying, “It’s a political issue and we are still strategizing how to revert back on the same. Ali’s manager also supported him and said, “Especially with BJP winning here in Mumbai, we don’t want to comment on it right now.”
We hope that things work out smoothly for “Kill Dil’ and soon it can hit the silver screen.
