Nawazuddin Siddiqui Asking Support for ‘Liar’s Dice’

Nawazuddin-SiddiquiActor Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer ‘Liar’s Dice’ will represent Indian films for the Oscar award under the category of The best foreign language film. But Nawazuddin says that the filmmakers don’t have enough money to screen the film at the academy awards on a very large scale.
He said, “The movie is a small budget movie. We need to screen the movie on a big scale there, but we don’t have the money and are searching for support.”
He was present in Delhi to take part in an event recently. The story of the film revolves around Kamala who lives in a remote village of Chitkul on the Kinnaur-Tibet border. She went on a journey to find her husband. She is accompanied in her mission by her three-year-old daughter and a pet goat. Her husband’s name is Harud who had left the village to get employed as a construction worker five months ago but didn’t turn up since then.
This film is directed by Geetu Mohandas. The actor said that they are finding some sort of support for their film. In his words, “We are talking to industry people and are optimistic that we will get support.”
The Lunchbox actor added that small films need more promotions so as to attract the audiences towards them.
“Small films need to be promoted more. People are scared to put their money on such films and the drawback of it is that the films don’t reach people.”
