A new breakthrough extension in the Chrome browser would now automatically broadcast the URL (web address) of a webpage you are viewing to computers around you through an audio beep. Any nearby system can access that beep and open the URL of the webpage, without you having to share it manually.
Here’s how it works: The browser needs to have the Tone extension enabled through the Chrome web store from where it can be downloaded for free.
When the user clicks on a blue button within the browser and has the system volume turned loud, the computer would broadcast an audio tone which can be picked up by a nearby system having the Tone extension enabled. However, this feature depends on your system volume and microphone, but can be very useful if you need to regularly share updates or doing some serous teamwork in your office.
